Jewellery Care

Your jewellery and its beauty may last long if you care for it properly. It is strongly advisable to take off the accessories when doing heavier physical works, especially if using strong cleansing agents or detergents. It is also suggested to remove the jewellery when taking a shower and when bathing or swimming. Not only can the jewellery be phisically harmed or even lost, it may as well get damaged by chemicals that can reduce its sheen. We advise you to store your jewellery in a safe place, preferably in the enclosed box or pouch. After applying skin lotions or parfumes we would recommend waiting for ten minutes before putting on jewellery so that the skin will have absorbed all the liquid.

Sterling silver jewellery can occasionaly be cleaned with a microfiber duster or a special cleansing agent. We can also clean it for you.

For jewellery with semi-precious and precious stones it is advised to wipe it weekly with a soft cloth, preferably one with micro fibres. If it is not attached to a cotton thread, it can as well be brushed gently and washed off with tepid water.

Jewellery with pearls may as well be occasionally wiped with a soft cloth. If the jewellery piece is knotted on a cotton thread, we suggest you to check the thread now and then. If your necklace or bracelet seem loosened, stretched or if it is starting to torn we recommend you to have it newly threaded and repaired as it may suddenly fall appart if not done so for the thread may disintegrate. Usually that can happen every couple of years.
